I had this revolution the other day in regards to relationships and staying true to yourself when being involved with someone. There are so many people that are in relationships that are not real. What do I mean by ‘not real’ you may ask. I mean it’s a fabrication of ones imagination and that person stays, hoping that this fantasy comes true one day. The longer a person stays in this fantasy is the more this person starts to loss themselves. Why do we stay when we know we are not happy? Do we stay out of obligation; do we stay because we are afraid of failure; do we stay because of finances; do we stay out of comfortability; or do we stay out of convenience? Whatever the reason might be; do you think it’s fair to rob yourself of true happiness?
Sometimes relationships just don’t work out. Some people fall out of love while others are deeply in love but just can’t be together. People ignore the signs and tend to force shit that’s not there. When you force something, you damage it even more and that is never a good thing. I had to do a lot of soul searching in the last couple of months and what I came to realize is that we can’t control our emotions. I have a great relationship with my husband and I consider him my best friend but as far as a relationship- we are not a match. It’s weird when you think about it-like how can two people who say they love each other can not be in a relationship with one another? Trust me- this same question have been swirling around in my brain for a while. It’s always these nagging questions that seem to hit me like: Am I doing the right thing?, Did I do everything possible to work things out or Why can’t I be with him?
What I came to realize is that if you have to question it then maybe it’s not meant to be. To many people waste so much unnecessary time tying to just figure shit out when you can just do what you feel and be happy. Why hold on to someone you know deep down is not the one for you? Wouldn’t it be easier to just let it go to make room for your true happily ever after? Remember, your happiness is the utmost importance.
